Located in the immediate vicinity is the Riem-Arcaden shopping centre with 128 shops over three levels. Whether it’s efficient one-stop-shopping or a shopping tour, here you will find everything you need. Those who’d also like to see a bit of Munich head directly to the city centre: around Munich’s Marienplatz, there are numerous shops, cafés, and of course the Viktualienmarkt.

Riem Racecourse

Located in the immediate vicinity of the Golden Ball Boardinghouse the Munich Riem Racecourse – a highlight, and not just for fans of horse racing. In addition to the races, which are among the most important in Germany, there is a great deal in store for children on the beautiful park grounds: the family park [‘Familienpark’] offers numerous activities for kids at affordable prices. Pony rides, bouncy castle, play tent and of course the children’s playground all make small hearts leap.

Meanwhile, the grown-ups are welcome to indulge their culinary fancy: On racing days, Feinkost Käfer caters to guests in the club restaurant, the rustic mountain cabin and at various food stalls throughout the grounds. Of interest to business people: outside of race days, the club grandstand and the cosy mountain cabin are available for rent for private and business events.

Golfing

The Munich Riem Golf Club has a 9-hole golf course located within the racecourse oval. Here, golfers of all levels can hit a few balls, from dawn until late in the evening. Numerous water hazards and 31 bunkers offer challenges and playing enjoyment to professionals and beginners alike. You will also find the 18-hole Munich Aschheim Golf Park in the immediate vicinity.
